This is a sad story for a mother of 8 children who was lucky she was not in her room when the fire started at about 10.00 am. Though she was working on her farm making her unaware of the fire at her home at least she and her children have their lives. Following our Donation to her Village minutes earlier, our eyes caught the smoke from the fire.
We went closer and heard the story of the fire in the thatch that took all the earnings of this peasant farmer and her family. Her cash of a thousand cedis savings, harvested bags of pepper, clothing, Kitchen wares, seeds and all other belongings were all consumed by the fire. The only clothing she wore to the farm on the day of the fire disaster is all she has now.
Though we gave out all we came with to the village earlier on before seeing her predicament we managed to give her a bag of rice we were going to give to another poor family. This is a sad story that needs our attention and intervention. Lets keep her and her family in our thoughts and prayers.
